Research profile
- Field of expertise: Environmental governance in Asia, political ecology, trade and the environment, community-based natural resource management, environmental transformations in developing and transitional economies
- PhD research was on the politics of living aquatic resource development in the Mekong River Basin.
- Previously worked with a number of environmental and development organisations in Southeast Asia including World Wide Fund for Nature, WorldFish, Oxfam Australia, Oxfam America and the Mekong River Commission.
- Current research themes include the relationship between natural resource-based trade and community based management, development of a ‘river basin citizenship’ approach to inland fisheries management, and the relationship between customary and formal environmental governance in developing countries
